The following is in the process of
being developed into a simple, understandable study of the sanctuary
system. |
What is the Sanctuary? | The sanctuary is the system of services set up by God to resolve the sin situation.
What is sin? | Sin
is the (1)
"transgression
of the law"
1 John 3:4; (2) "whatsoever is not of faith" Romans 14:23; (3) "to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin." James 4:17 |
|
What does sin do to the life? | Sin
disregards the wisdom of the
Creator who knows how to put together things in such a manner
that any departure from the Creators ways results in the deterioration
of life itself eventually leading to death. Why create something
that will eventually die? Why not create something that will
continue to live in perfect harmony with all other things that it must
live with. Sin separates us from God. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:2 |
|
What was the original plan? | Life without sickness, misery, death. Did God create all things to eventually die? When He created the world, He "saw the light, that it was good" Genesis 1:4. The same phrase "it was good" shows up also in verses 10, 12, 18, 21, and 25 of Genesis 1 at the point of the creation of this world. Why would He create some part of His creation not to be compatible with any other part of His creation? When we buy something, do we want it to stop functioning through use or deterioration? We know it will deteriorate, wear out, be destroyed sometimes through what we normally call an accident. But, when God created this world, He did so with the intent that it would continue on indefinitely. Had Adam and Eve not sold out to "the rebeller", Satan, we would today be free from all the negative things that plague us today, and have plagued this world from the creation of the world.
What did God do to resolve the sin situation that came in as a result of Adam and Eve's disobedience? | For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have everlasting
life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16,17 |
|
How is a person like you and me saved? | Let's look at the sanctuary and it's meanings. (This is the study of the sanctuary - in process)
What are we saved from? | And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
Who are "His [Jesus] people"? | For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Luke
19:10 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 If you are a "whosoever" then you must be one of His people who are lost who He came to find and save. |
|
What is sin? | "... sin is the transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4
What law? | There
are two basic laws to consider. 1) The law given by God at Mt. Sinai written by the finger of God. And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God. Exodus 31:18 2) The law of Moses written in a book put in the side pocket of the ark. Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee." Deuteronomy 31:26 |
|
Which law are we to follow? | The law given by God at Mt. Sinai written by the finger of God.
What is the law of Moses? | The
laws of the sanctuary relating to the animal sacrifices given to the
children of Israel until Jesus Christ died on the cross. Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; Matthew 27:50-51 Here we see that Christ brought the animal sacrificing to an end with His own death since the animal sacrifices pointed forward to His own death. John the Baptist announced at the water baptism of Jesus, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." John 1:29 |

What did God tell Moses He wanted the children of Israel to do, and why? | And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel . . .And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. Exodus 25:1,2,8
2 Corinthians 4:4 | ".
. .the god of this world
hath blinded the minds of them which believe
not. . ." |

I want to give credit for
some of this material, and the general overall direction of the content of
this site to Corky Evans, my friend, who has studied the sanctuary for
over 30 years, and who has been given understanding by God, through the
Holy Spirit, in the things of the sanctuary so that we can understand how
this system works on our behalf for our salvation. God is very good to
show us the way we are saved, and what goes on in our relationship to Him
when we sin, when we ask for forgiveness of Him through Jesus Christ, our
Great High Priest in the Heavenly Sanctuary, and what will be the final
results of our sins that are forgiven, and the final results of those who
do not take advantage of this "system of salvation" for their
saving, and what happens to our adversary, satan, the devil, as a result
of his separation from his life source, God in heaven. True
life can only be had through the true God in Heaven, and His Son, JESUS
CHRIST, who have done
all they can to save us.
They are our Creators, and only They can be our re-Creators through Their
gift of the Sanctuary that has been let down to this earth for our saving
since sin first entered our earth from the first humans on this earth,
Adam and Eve, as recorded in the Holy Scriptures, God's message book to
us.
Corky has written a book called "Sanctuary Cross" which, if you want to get it, can be purchased through the College Place ABC Christian Family Bookstore. The general ABC toll free phone number is (800) 765-6955. You will need to ask specifically for the College Place, Washington ABC, or you can call directly to the store at (509) 529-0723. They are open daily during normal business hours, Monday through Thursday, and have shortened hours on Fridays. They are sometimes open Sundays for special times. This is Pacific Coast time in the U.S.A. It can also be purchased through the "Foundation of our Faith" website. |
